Requirements

Mortgage industry knowledge
Advanced underwriting experience
Credit review and risk assessment
Proficiency with DU and LP

Nice To Haves

DE Underwriter experience preferred
Strong communication and people skills
Strong understanding of mortgage underwriting fundamentals
Proficiency with automated underwriting systems
Knowledge of mortgage laws and regulations, including HMDA
Familiarity with federal and state agency guidelines

Responsibilities

Underwrite a full range of mortgage loans, including FHA
Review loan applications and documentation for completeness and accuracy
Work with clients to prepare applications and resolve outstanding issues
Partner with compliance officers to ensure adherence to Federal, State, and Local requirements
Issue timely approval or denial decisions
Support guideline adherence and high-quality underwriting standards
Perform additional duties as assigned and aligned with organizational values
Must be able to work Eastern Time Zone hours.
