About The Position

This position is responsible for entering data, compiling, reviewing, and verifying documents for mortgage loan files. The role involves collaboration with a small Operations team and members of the Mortgage Sales and Development team to process, close, and fund mortgage loan transactions, while also handling additional departmental duties outside of production.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of mortgage lending functions including policies, practices, and standards.
  • Familiarity with modern office equipment and technology.
  • Understanding of Credit Union operations, procedures, products, services, and systems.
  • Proficiency in software programs including Mortgage Cadence, Symitar, Microsoft Suite Products, Synergy, FICS, and Mercury Network.
  • Ability to read and interpret various instructions in written, oral, diagram, and schedule form.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills to meet deadlines.
  • Effective writing and speaking skills for reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to cross-sell for member benefit and educate effectively on processes.
  • Problem-solving skills to deal with variables in situations.
  • Self-directed with initiative and drive to activate projects from conception to completion.
  • Interpersonal and human relations skills.
  • Timely decision-making skills.
  • Typing and personal computer skills.

  • Experience in mortgage lending or related fields.

Responsibilities

  • Actively listen to and respond to member inquiries, suggestions, requests, and concerns.
  • Support the Sales and Development Department to ensure effective communication and timely processing of mortgage files.
  • Document and calculate basic types of income to meet GSE requirements.
  • Perform quality checks on all documents to ensure efficient and compliant loans.
  • Work with relevant 3rd Party staff for timely communications and document processing.
  • Assist market team leads & seniors in preparing, reviewing, and submitting final loan documents within regulatory guidelines.
  • Complete transactions needed within both mortgage operations and sales departments, including payment of invoices and GL transfers.
  • Monitor monthly and annual reports, making corrections when necessary and submitting to government agencies.
  • Organize and research proper documentation and perform verifications as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to document retention policies.
  • Complete necessary training and compliance courses timely.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
