About The Position

Provides assistance to Mortgage Processors in setting up mortgage loan files. Receives loan files and verifies completeness, accuracy, and timeliness is in accordance with what is established for that loan type. Ensure mortgage files are in compliance with Credit Union and FNMA/FHLMC policies and procedures. Ensure that files fall within the established lending guidelines.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 2 years of customer service, mortgage experience preferred
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook Email /Calendar, and Internet Explorer software.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for offering Credit Union products and services to current and potential members.
  • Credit Union services are to be promoted using the “member benefit-based approach.”
  • Represents the Credit Union professionally and courteously to members and potential members.
  • Provides prompt, efficient, accurate, and friendly service in processing transactions.
  • Fully complies with all SRP Credit Union policies, procedures, guidelines, and service standards, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and OFAC Policies.
  • Reviews files for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assigns Processors and Closers to mortgage files, as needed.
  • Acts as a liaison between SRP and various Appraisal/Appraisal Management companies.
  • Orders all appropriate documents and ensures products ordered meet investor requirements.
  • Responsible for ensuring the necessary correspondence is sent out at the time of setup.
  • Works with processors to develop competencies to be able to review and analyze all aspects of the mortgage file including but not limited to accuracy of file input, timely delivery of disclosures, title policy, assets, income, tax returns, credit reports and appraisals.
  • Communicates with applicants/members, realtors, builders, appraisers, title companies, and other departments as needed to ensure timely performance of mortgage files.
  • Multitasking through Consumer Connect and Encompass to assign loan applications.
  • Contact members in a timely manner for incomplete applications received through consumer connect using the 3-day, 5-day, and 7-day method of contact.
  • Use rotation to assign the originators applications as they come in
  • Use rotation to assign the processors loans as they move to the set-up pipeline
  • Assigning Mortgage Inquiries, via email, phone and internet
  • May be assigned other tasks by appropriate supervisor/manager
  • Responsible for selling and cross-selling Credit Union services to current and potential members.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, HMDA, FHA, VA requirements.
  • Will need to recognize and apply all legal, regulatory, and compliance practices to meet all Federal and State requirements
  • Must be able to pass all required compliance training courses
