Summary of Role: The Mortgage Servicing Cashier Specialist performs all cash related transactions and corresponding account reconciliations as it relates to the servicing of mortgage loans.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Equivalency Degree (G.E.D.)
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in mortgage servicing.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel
• Detailed knowledge of all internal programs and applications i.e., MSP, Encompass, Fiserv DNA, etc.

Responsibilities

• Complete all service requests related to mortgage payments and payoffs in the prescribed time frames.
• Daily balancing of all activity performed on MSP for the prior day utilizing various reports to ensure transactions completed appropriately.
• Daily review of various reports to ensure all stopped and rejected payments are identified and processed. Requires collaboration with Loss Mitigation.
• Manage Daily Suspense Queues and Balance Suspense Queues to ensure all payments are applied timely and accurately.
• Daily review of reports related to ACH drafts from Servicing Digital to ensure all payments are processed and funds deposited to Payment Clearing account.
• Daily printing of checks from MSP I-disburse for all mortgage related disbursements including but not limited to Escrow disbursements, Corporate Advances for Loss Mitigation and Hazard Losses. Includes review of associated reports to ensure accuracy and distribution of checks to the appropriate areas.
• Responsible for creating daily check and wire registers from I-Disburse for the tracking and remitting of daily disbursements from MSP. This also includes submission of SWM file to Deposit Operations for the creation of Official Checks in DNA.
• Daily and monthly reconciliation of all DDA Accounts including Payment Clearing, Escrow Clearing and all Investor Custodial Accounts. Communicate any discrepancies to Investor Accounting team.
• Processing of all incoming mortgage payments and loan payoffs on date of receipt.
• Maintain records of all loan payoffs to ensure Discharge of Mortgage is completed within 30 days.
• Track & scan daily transit checks processed report for Mortgage Servicing Contact members to verify application of any principal curtailments in excess of $3000
• Process disbursements for insurance losses & escrow holdbacks.
• Update policies and procedures as necessary
• Perform other duties as may be assigned by supervisor
• Other duties as needed
