The pay for this position starts at $22.73 per hour, with relevant education and experience considered in determining the starting pay rate. This position also earns incentive monthly, and we do not put any cap or maximum on the amount of incentive the successful candidate can earn. Requirements

Associate’s degree or equivalent education and experience
Experience in mortgage origination or at least 2 years experience in lending in a financial institution
Experience in explaining and cross-selling products
License with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) required or must be obtained after employment
Knowledge of lending regulations and credit reports required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Able to generate leads and close transactions in a fast paced environment
Resume and cover letter required
Attends events that are occasionally outside of regular business hours.

Responsibilities

Solicits new residential mortgage business. This includes outside sales such as origination of home loans based on contacts with realtors, builders, and through other connections.
Meets with applicants, collects financial data and documents, and recommends the loan products that best meet the borrower(s) needs.
Submits loans through underwriting system for loan review. Corresponds with the applicant to resolve any questions that may arise and keeps the applicant updated during the lending process.
Monitors and manages mortgage pipeline and follows up to ensure each file is processed and closed in a timely manner. Ensures that all conditions and closing dates are met. Identifies any issues which may impact ability to meet previously established conditions and dates.
Establishes and maintains relationships with realtors and builders to grow business and originate loans.
Promotes and cross-sells OUCU Financial products and services.
Promotes real estate products outside the Credit Union. Attends outside functions to further ties with the real estate market.
