About The Position

The Mortgage Originator is responsible for originating quality saleable mortgage loan applications from assigned Dollar Bank branches and various referral sources including, realtors, financial planners, attorneys, and other professional contacts. Candidate will have the opportunity to work a hybrid schedule.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED required. College degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of originating mortgage loan applications required.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of and ability to follow Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, FHA and VA guidelines to structure quality mortgage applications
• Software knowledge including: Point of sale first mortgage loan origination system, Microsoft Word and Excel.
• General business, financial and credit lending knowledge.
• A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle is required.
• Candidate being considered will be subject to additional background checks as required by the office of the Comptroller of Currency.

Responsibilities

• Enter all data required to complete a residential mortgage application in the loan origination system.
• Provide buyer with all required early disclosures.
• Assist borrowers by explaining lending programs and all required information needed to complete the mortgage process.
• Properly quote interest rates for loan programs offered and lock-in the interest rate at the time of the borrower’s request.
• Achieve assigned production goals.
• Actively network with realtors and other professional referral sources and attend networking functions and trade shows as determined by management.
• Oversee active pipeline of mortgages from application to closing and work closely with the operations personnel to assist in processing the application when needed.
• Work closely with branch personnel of assigned branches.
• Attend meetings and branch events as assigned.
• All employees have the responsibility and the accountability to serve as risk managers for their businesses by understanding, reporting, responding to, managing and monitoring the risk they encounter daily as required by Dollar Bank’s risk management program.
• Compliance with regulatory laws and company procedures is a required component of all position descriptions.
