About The Position

Serves as the Qualified Individual (“QI”) for an affiliate performing mortgage loan processing, underwriting, and/or loan servicing support, ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and investor requirements. Provides oversight and management of mortgage loan operations, including loan processing, underwriting, and loan servicing support activities performed on behalf of financial services clients. Maintains and manages relationships with senior and executive‑level management within client organizations and internal stakeholders. Ensures senior and executive‑level client management is informed of overall operational status, key risks, regulatory considerations, and the potential impact of activities on broader organizational strategy. Manages all functions within a mortgage loan operations and servicing environment, including planning, organizing, and overseeing work efforts; assigning resources; supervising mortgage personnel; managing risk; ensuring quality management; and monitoring overall project and contract performance. Oversees compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including familiarity with and adherence to the Federal Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and other relevant mortgage regulatory requirements. Leads and supports teams in a collaborative environment, ensuring quality standards, productivity, and performance expectations are consistently met.

Requirements

  • At least Twelve (12) years of full‑time experience in the mortgage industry, with at least three (3) of those years occurring within the most recent five‑year period.
  • Experience across both mortgage origination and mortgage servicing activities is REQUIRED.
  • Significant mortgage loan servicing experience, with demonstrated understanding of loan processing, underwriting, and servicing operations.
  • Prior experience leading, supervising and managing mortgage operations personnel; ability to work effectively in a team‑based environment is required.
  • Experience providing oversight and executive-level management for overall contract and operational performance.
  • Familiarity with the Federal Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and other applicable mortgage servicing regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Truth-in-Lending Act, and other applicable mortgage origination regulatory requirements.
  • Willingness to complete all required pre‑licensing, examinations, and continuing education requirements across applicable jurisdictions.
  • Candidates must be located in the San Antonio, Texas metropolitan area.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior holding of a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) license for two (2) or more years.
  • Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Direct Endorsement Underwriter designation.
  • Utah Lending Manager License.
  • In the alternative, prior licensure as an MLO for at least three (3) years with experience originating at least forty‑five (45) first‑lien residential mortgage loans.
  • Experience with business process outsourcing within the mortgage industry.
