About The Position

The Pulte Financial Services (PFS) Summer Internship offers a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in the mortgage banking and financial services industries. Interns will work closely with experienced professionals, contributing to meaningful projects while enhancing their skills in various areas such as mortgage operations, learning and development, and finance. This internship is designed to provide a holistic understanding of the industry, with a focus on improving training programs and developing leadership skills in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma GED, or equivalent education required
  • Must be at least 18-years of age
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States
  • Enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at the time of application or graduated the semester immediately preceding the start of the internship
  • Minimum of junior status preferred
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 at time of application or graduation preferred
  • Strong tech-savvy competency; experience with Excel and Microsoft Teams specifically
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently across all levels
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines consistently
  • Detail-oriented, with a sharp eye for accuracy in both project work and daily tasks
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset, with the capability to identify issues and develop effective solutions

Nice To Haves

  • Strong interest in the homebuilding, real estate, and/or construction industry as a preferred career field
  • Involvement in extracurricular activities outside of curriculum responsibilities (i.e., student organizations, leadership roles, student athletes, NAHB student competition, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Gain a deep understanding of mortgage banking and its key functions
  • Identify and propose valuable improvements to the mortgage banking training program
  • Collaborate with L&D and Operations leadership, developing leadership and business skills
  • Cross-train with various financial services departments to build a broad skillset
  • Attend business meetings to gain insights into daily mortgage banking operations
  • Act as a decision-maker in creating and updating training content and course deliverables
  • Provide input on new learning and development options
  • Participate in team meetings, contributing ideas for training enhancements and change management
