About The Position

Responsible for leading, performing, and directing the work of the Real Estate loan funding and closing team. Ensures mortgage loans are reviewed, disclosed, closed, and disbursed accurately and within required timeframes. Provides administrative support to help SAFE achieve its goals.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and five plus years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • May be responsible for obtaining and maintaining Notary Public commission.
  • Thorough knowledge of loan products, underwriting guidelines, escrow/title practices, documentation requirements and regulatory compliance. Previous experience with Loan Origination Systems (preferably Encompass).

Responsibilities

  • Handles and resolves all closing issues.
  • Responsible to operate as a backup for funding/post-closing employees in their absence.
  • Directly supervises employees in the Real Estate Closing and Funding department.
  • Resolves defects on closing documents
  • Resolves suspense conditions provided by investors/agencies.
  • Works with team to correct closing issues and system discrepancies as appropriate and necessary (i.e. Note, Deed of Trust, HUD-1, boarding screens etc.).
  • Communicates with internal and external clients to obtain missing or corrected documents in a timely manner (members, servicing vendor and title company, etc.)
  • Act as investors and servicing company’s primary contact for all closing issues.
  • Establish individual and team goals. Supervise loan funding and opening desk staff to ensure goals are met. Provide coaching, as applicable.
  • Assist in the annual preparation and management of the budget. Work within the budget guidelines. Reports variances, as applicable.
  • Complete annual performance reviews for assigned employees.
  • Develop and monitor training plan for new and existing employees.
  • Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts each month.
  • Track and analyze trends pertaining to SAFE’s funding, closing and opening desk operation, (turn-around times, production, etc.)
  • Prepare applicable production and delivery reports.
  • Maintain accurate up-to-date funding and closing procedures.
  • Assist with special projects as applicable.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
