About The Position

Join our team at State Employees' Credit Union (SECU) where we embody the philosophy of "People Helping People." We are dedicated to providing the highest quality member service through the origination of quality residential mortgage and equity loan applications received through all delivery channels across the organization. As a key member of our lending team, you will serve as the primary point of contact for applicants during the application and initial approval stages, ensuring a smooth and supportive experience for our members. In this role, you will receive and assist in the completion of real estate-related loan applications, counseling potential home buyers and existing homeowners. You will take complete and accurate loan applications, obtain required documentation, and determine the needs of applicants to offer appropriate mortgage products. Your ability to independently assess creditworthiness and affordability will empower you to extend initial pre-approval to applicants, fostering trust and confidence in our services. You will also be responsible for identifying, developing, and maintaining a source of referrals for new mortgage lending opportunities. Following up with prequalified applicants and other leads in a timely manner is crucial to your success. You will coordinate member engagement with the Real Estate Lending Processing Center within Loan Administration and make recommendations regarding other Credit Union products and services. Additionally, you will assist members with servicing existing mortgage and home equity loans, ensuring they are well-informed about available services. Maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of all real estate lending products, policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance is essential. You will ensure well-documented loan application history notes within the Loan Origination System and support branch employees with all real estate-related needs. Engaging with the community by meeting with realtors and attending events will help you build and maintain a robust mortgage loan pipeline. Your role may also include answering phones and performing clerical duties as needed, along with completing additional tasks assigned by management.
