About The Position

Sandy Spring Bank is seeking a Mortgage Loan Sales Assistant to support experienced loan originators in various tasks including marketing, administrative duties, and borrower qualification. This role is essential in enhancing the efficiency of loan origination processes and ensuring a high level of customer service for potential borrowers.

Requirements

• 2 to 3 years of banking or lending experience, including exposure to mortgage banking principles.
• 2 to 4 years of mortgage loan experience in origination and/or processing.
• Demonstrated aptitude for sales and marketing.
• Good organizational skills and intermediate to advanced personal computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to establish rapport with external contacts.

• NMLS registration number or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Receive and handle calls from applicants, builders, and realtors on behalf of the loan originator.
• Qualify potential borrowers, quote loan rates, and answer questions about loan programs in the absence of the loan originator.
• Assist in tracking the loan originator's sales contacts and follow up with prospective borrowers.
• Participate in creating marketing tools to enhance sales presentations and prepare materials for sales calls.
• Provide assistance to processing staff in obtaining necessary documentation for loan approval.
