About The Position

Defy Mortgage, LLC is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Mortgage Processor to join our team in Nashville. The role involves providing personalized mortgage solutions to clients, ensuring a secure and efficient loan process while meeting closing deadlines and delivering exceptional customer service.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a mortgage processor
  • Thorough understanding of the loan application process and legal/compliance requirements
  • Integrity and confidentiality when handling sensitive client information
  • Experience with mortgage LOS, POS, and CRM systems
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Technology savvy with the ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work collaboratively with mortgage consultants and Underwriting
  • Flexibility to commute to Nashville, TN 37212 for this job Monday - Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze the mortgage loan application ensuring that all sections are complete and accurate, working with the Mortgage Consultant to address any errors/gaps.
  • Collect necessary application data, such as employment, assets, and debt, in order to submit the loan to underwriting.
  • Evaluate applicant's credit histories and ability to calculate income.
  • Communicate and build strong relationships with clients, realtors, and lender partners.
  • Assist the Mortgage Consultant in guiding the client through the loan process and serve as a reliable point of contact throughout.
  • Prepare loan packages and submit loans to Underwriting for approval.
  • Order third-party services such as appraisals, title work, verifications and mortgage insurance as needed.
  • Advise status to all parties through the mortgage process, updating our LOS accordingly and ensuring timely progression toward closing.
  • Maintain detailed records and file documentation in compliance with regulations.
  • Understand and stay current on investor guidelines and programs.
