About The Position

This position is primarily responsible for the processing duties for assigned mortgage loans generated by First United Bank employees. The Mortgage Loan Processor performs duties from loans originated from any location throughout the company and/or from various Mortgage Consultants. They provide excellent customer service to borrowers and internal customers, check reports, and follow up on assigned loans. The role ensures timely handling of all loan files and works within all posted service levels on all loans. The processor reviews and evaluates documentation for completeness and communicates to customers regarding loan status and any additional required documentation. They work with the loan officer, borrower, and closer to provide updates, address any issues with loan files, and assure a smooth closing. The completed loan files are submitted for underwriting approval, and the processor uses conversation logs or memo sections in the current loan entry program to accurately note the progress of each file. Understanding and adhering to mandatory compliance guidelines and attending training as required is essential.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Some secondary education preferred.
  • Mortgage banking experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent phone etiquette.
  • Ability to multi-task.

  • Checks reports and follows up on assigned loans.
  • Ensures timely handling of all loan files.
  • Works within all posted service levels on all loans.
  • Reviews and evaluates documentation for completeness and communicates to customers regarding loan status and any additional required documentation.
  • Works with the loan officer, borrower, and closer to provide updates and address any issues with loan files.
  • Submits completed loan files for underwriting approval.
  • Uses conversation log or memo sections in the current loan entry program to accurately note progress of file.
  • Understands and adheres to mandatory compliance guidelines and attends training as required.
  • Performs other duties as requested by Executive Management or Supervisor.
  • Completes all required compliance exams on a yearly basis.
  • Adheres to all First United Policies and Procedures.
  • Dresses professionally.
  • Recommends to supervisor possible methods to improve department.
