Assist intermediaries and prospective members with their mortgage lending needs in an efficient, accurate, and professional manner. This includes but is not limited to answering general questions, pre-qualification, new loan origination, maintaining an active pipeline, proactively seeking new loan prospects, and processing support. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Proactively solicit mortgage referrals from internal sources (branches, member services, new business development, etc...) and act as subject matter expert on 1st mortgages for new and existing members. Review/Follow Up on all 1st mortgage loan referrals, and originate 1st mortgage loans via telephone sales presentations as well as face to face as needed, always taking complete loan applications. Work with loan processors and underwriters, as well as Realtors and title attorneys to build teamwork through communication. Meet all loan production, service, and quality goals through proactive and responsive self-sourcing as well as pipeline management activities. Conduct and participate in mortgage related promotional events, activities, and seminars, and maintain a strong working knowledge of current trends, compliance requirements, and other industry changes. EDUCATIONAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Most recent 2 years of production including experience with conventional saleable purchase money loans and purchase transactions from external referral sources preferred. Must have and be eligible to maintain an active NMLS License Number. Minimum experience of 5 years in residential lending preferred. ADDITIONAL/IMPORTANT SKILLSETS Must have documented current loan referral sources Strong knowledge of Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac and FHA, VA, and USDA Guidelines. Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in applying credit risk principles to lending recommendations. Understanding of financial services related products and overall financial services operations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to routinely work Saturdays. Fluent in English required and Spanish preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, the employee must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. All employees must be able to communicate face to face or through technology with or without reasonable accommodation. Employee will be in an office environment (well-lighted, heated, and air-conditioned) typically stationed at a desk or table. Employee will be asked to sit and stand for various increments of time, and to lift/push up 10 lbs. Clerical office duties on various forms of technology are required. All positions that have lending responsibilities must comply with all requirements under the SAFE ACT, as well as the Credit Union’s policies and procedures related to the SAFE ACT.
