At C&N, we're seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator II to join our Mortgage Lending team. In this role, you'll leverage your experience and market knowledge to originate and underwrite residential mortgages, develop strong referral networks, and help clients achieve their dream of homeownership. Requirements

  • Education & Experience - You will need a Bachelor's Degree AND 4-6 years previous related experience in a customer service setting, preferably in a banking environment OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Required Certifications - NMLS (within 1 year of employment)
  • Proven sales experience with strong business development and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent communication, active listening, and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of mortgage lending and market trends.
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings and community involvement.

Nice To Haves

  • CRA (Community Reinvestment Act) lending experience, including working with low-to-moderate income borrowers, community partnerships, and programs that support affordable housing initiatives.
  • Experience developing or expanding lending opportunities within underserved markets.
  • Knowledge of community development lending programs or down payment assistance programs.

Responsibilities

  • Mortgage Sales & Origination: Originate and underwrite conforming and non-conforming residential mortgages while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and client satisfaction.
  • Business Development: Develop and manage relationships with referral sources including realtors, attorneys, builders, and branch lenders to generate new business opportunities.
  • Client Consultation: Interview clients, analyze financial needs, and provide clear, personalized mortgage solutions using C&N's suite of lending tools.
  • Cross-Selling: Identify opportunities to connect clients with additional financial solutions across deposit, insurance, investment, and trust services.
  • Community Engagement: Actively participate in community events to promote C&N and strengthen brand awareness.
  • Collaboration: Partner with internal teams to ensure timely, compliant loan closings and a seamless client experience.
