About The Position

As a Community Mortgage Lender at FNBO, you will have the opportunity to help customers achieve their dream of homeownership, assist existing homeowners in refinancing, and help them save money through better interest rates. Your primary focus will be to serve customers in low to moderate income geographies, minority communities, and low to moderate income borrowers, fulfilling the bank's Fair Lending and CRA mortgage responsibilities. You will create new business from existing customers and source new customers by establishing partnerships with various community partners, including realtor professionals, financial service providers, nonprofit agencies, and local government outreach departments. Community involvement is key, as you will participate in events to promote FNBO and engage in activities that promote financial stability and access to homeownership.

Requirements

  • Established in the community with connections in the assigned geographic area.
  • Experience in community outreach and building relationships.
  • Ability to travel between FNBO locations and community partners.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Working knowledge of CRA, community development, and Fair Lending.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel applications.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years of experience in mortgage loan origination, specifically in Community Mortgage Lending.
  • Active Mortgage Originator with a pipeline.
  • Knowledge of mortgage operating systems, pricing, and underwriting requirements.

  • Represent FNBO with professionalism, integrity, and respect in the community.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on mortgage loans with the customer's best interests in mind.
  • Originate and close mortgage loans while ensuring compliance and accountability.
  • Deliver an excellent customer experience by setting proper expectations.
  • Meet and exceed defined monthly sales goals and contribute to divisional goals.
  • Create and execute a personal business plan aligned with FNBO Mortgage Division goals.
  • Establish strong relationships with community partners including chambers of commerce and non-profits.
  • Maintain knowledge of mortgage products that benefit low to moderate income borrowers.
  • Collaborate with internal mortgage partners for efficient processing of customer files.
  • Participate in community events to promote FNBO products and services.
