About The Position
The Mortgage Loan Officer position at Huntington Bank is designed to provide exceptional customer service to clients seeking mortgage loans. This role is pivotal in developing and maintaining business relationships within the community, utilizing both internal and external referral sources to expand the mortgage loan business. The Mortgage Loan Officer will engage in consultative selling techniques to advise clients on various mortgage loan options and other financial products, ensuring that each customer receives personalized attention throughout the loan process. In this position, the officer will be responsible for guiding clients from the approval stage through to closing, collaborating closely with loan origination sources to secure and verify all necessary information for underwriting. Maintaining strong client relationships is crucial, as the officer will also assist customers in completing loan applications and addressing any inquiries they may have. The role may involve additional duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the mortgage lending team. The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or GED, along with at least one year of mortgage loan origination experience, preferably within a banking environment. A valid NMLS license is required, and candidates with a pipeline and book of business will be given preference. Knowledge of various mortgage loan products, including conventional, FHA/VA, construction lending, and portfolio programs, is essential. Familiarity with mortgage procedures, documentation, and underwriting guidelines will also be beneficial in this role. Strong organizational skills, effective communication abilities, and proficiency in PC and internet skills are necessary to thrive in this position.
