SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE  This position assists customers with their mortgage lending needs, analyzes loan requests and makes credit decisions based on mortgage lending policy. This position actively represents the bank in the local community and develops new business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business or related field from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Two (2) or more years mortgage lending experience required or combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess valid NMLS ID.
  • Proven sales ability, effective interpersonal skills, and a strong desire to succeed required.
  • Must be highly self-motivated with keen problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of financial ratios and accounting principles and the ability to analyze and evaluate complex financial information required.
  • Must be willing to participate in community events on behalf of the bank.
  • Must possess a valid Texas Driver License.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate mortgage loan documents to determine if buyer, property, and loan conditions meet bank and regulatory standards. Approve or reject loan applications, or request additional information from the customer.
  • Establish terms and conditions of an approved loan and review with customer.
  • Complete each loan application and pre-processing functions in a timely manner.
  • Order appraisals, credit reports, background checks, reference checks and other information as needed on residential loan applicants.
  • Market the bank’s mortgage lending program to companies and individuals within the real estate community.
  • Evaluate acceptability of loan on secondary mortgage markets.
  • Uphold the bank’s relationship banking culture through on-going customer contact, quality customer service and superior product knowledge. Cross-sells other bank services.
  • Stay informed of current trends in mortgage lending and market factors affecting mortgage lending.
  • Develop new customer prospects and business for the bank. Actively participate in local business and community activities and maintain relationships with local builders, real estate brokers, agents, customers and prospects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
