LANGLEY FEDERAL CREDIT UNION IS CURRENTLY HIRING FOR A FULL TIME MORTGAGE LOAN OFFICER TO WORK ON-SITE FROM OUR OYSTER POINT LOCATION IN NEWPORT NEWS, VA.   Job Summary: Builds relationships based on leads from branches, contact centers, online applications, inquiries, and marketing initiatives. Increases real estate loan portfolio by assisting members in determining the best product to meet their needs. Develops business contacts and realtor relationships and works on real estate loan applications.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of recent experience in mortgage lending preferred.
  • NMLS Loan officer state license preferred with the ability to earn the license within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Takes incoming calls (leads) and virtual appointments to pre-qualify, interview, and counsel borrowers to determine a suitable real estate loan product.
  • Review applications submitted online. Contacts the borrower to review the loan application and determine the best product. Obtains the documentation needed for loan approval.
  • Works directly with Realtors to establish rapport and build confidence their referrals will be handled properly.
