About The Position

The Mortgage Loan Closer is responsible for preparing loan packages in compliance with state and federal regulations, ensuring that loans close according to Underwriter's approval and Newrez's policies. This role involves reviewing legal documents, ensuring compliance, and serving as a liaison between Newrez and closing agents, while meeting performance requirements for volume, quality, and timeliness.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; 4-year college degree preferred.
• Minimum two (2) years mortgage Closing or Post-Closing experience is required.
• 1-2 years loan funding experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of loan documentation.
• Advanced computer skills including Excel and Outlook.
• Advanced mathematical skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Familiar with reading and interpreting insurance policies, tax information, prelims, appraisals, and settlement statements.
• Knowledge of MDIA and TRID disclosure requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepares legal documents according to state and/or federal regulations.
• Reviews and approves the final balanced Closing Disclosure.
• Ensures loan package meets compliance guidelines and fixes discrepancies as necessary.
• Generates and approves the Closing Package.
• Serves as liaison between Newrez and closing agent.
• Inputs and confirms data required to generate Closing Package.
• Completes work within established closing deadlines.
• Works with title companies on loan scheduling, document delivery, and final sign-off.
• Meets performance requirements for volume, quality, and timeliness.
• Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor.
