About The Position

The Mortgage Lending Processor III is responsible for processing residential mortgage loans, ensuring compliance with bank, investor, and secondary market standards. This role requires meeting performance metrics and goals established by the bank. Key aspects include using critical thinking and analytical skills, maintaining a strong understanding of Mortgage Lending products, policies, processes, and required documentation, and obtaining necessary credit and compliance documentation from various sources. The processor must perform detailed reviews of all documentation to ensure loans meet portfolio and investor guidelines, provide consistent communication to clients for a smooth and timely closing process, and ensure loan quality standards are met before submission to underwriting. Proactive pipeline management is essential to meet metrics, alongside adherence to all compliance regulations and controls. The role also involves developing and maintaining positive working relationships with co-workers, internal and external clients, business partners, and vendors, and cultivating relationships as a peer mentor.

Requirements

  • Minimum five years of mortgage loan processing experience or the equivalent.
  • Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal, in relating to internal and external clients.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in basic computer applications such as mortgage automated processing systems and Microsoft Office software products.
  • Ability to travel, occasionally overnight.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent education and related training.
  • FHA/VA/Bond experience.
  • Basic knowledge of bank services and products.
  • Candidates fluent in Spanish are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Successfully use critical thinking and analytical skills to process loans.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of Mortgage Lending products, policies, processes, and their required documentation.
  • Obtain required credit and compliance documentation per program requirements from internal clients, external clients, vendors, and third-party sources.
  • Perform detailed review of all documentation to ensure that loans meet portfolio and investor guidelines.
  • Provide consistent communication on loan status to clients to ensure a smooth process to close on time.
  • Ensure that loan quality standards are met when submitting loans to underwriting.
  • Conduct proactive and effective pipeline management to ensure that metrics are met.
  • Adhere to all compliance regulations and controls.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationship with co-workers, internal and external clients, business partners and vendors.
  • Cultivate relationships with peers as a peer mentor.
