About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior BSA/AML Mortgage Fraud Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying, investigating, and preventing fraudulent activities related to mortgage applications and transactions. This role requires a deep understanding of mortgage processes, fraud detection techniques, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of mortgage operations or mortgage quality control experience
  • Understanding of BSA/AML laws, FinCEN guidelines, and SAR/CTR filing
  • Familiarity with FFIEC Examination Manual, USA Patriot Act, KYC, CIP and OFAC regulations
  • Detail oriented with high integrity and discretion
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Comfortable working under pressure and managing multiple priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • CAMS or CFE Certification
  • Experience with non-bank residential mortgage lending

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-depth investigations of both pre-fund and post-close mortgage files to gather findings, identify characteristics indicative of mortgage fraud, and report on any noticeable trends or suspicious activity
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on existing mortgage fraud schemes as well as investor, lender, and regulatory guidelines
  • Stay well-informed of changes where guidelines and new and emerging mortgage fraud trends are concerned
  • Complete Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR) within required timeframe
  • Work with law enforcement officials
  • Document casework in the department's case management system
  • Prepare executive reporting
  • Prepare the annual BSA Risk Assessment
  • Coordinate training programs to educate personnel about mortgage fraud and BSA/AML related compliance requirements and ensure annual completion of training
  • Escalate mortgage fraud patterns and concentrations to the AML Officer
