The Closer is responsible for preparing loan packages according to state and/or federal regulations and ensure loans close in accordance with Underwriter’s approval and Newrez’s policies and procedures. Direct Reports · N/A Principal Duties · Prepares legal documents according to state and/or federal regulations · Reviews and approves the final balanced Closing Disclosure · Ensures loan package meets compliance guidelines and fixing discrepancies as necessary · Generates and approves the Closing Package · Serves as liaison between Newrez and closing agent. · Inputs and confirms data required to generate Closing Package · Completes work within established closing deadlines. · This position is considered a non-loan originator position, this means participants may not engage in activities of a loan originator, including communicating directly with borrowers about credit qualification or loan terms, including pricing concessions or other transaction-specific terms or conditions · Works with title companies on loan scheduling, document delivery, final sign-off · Meets performance requirements for volume, quality, and timeliness · Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor. Education and Experience Requirements · High school diploma or equivalent required; 4-year college degree preferred. · Minimum two (2) years mortgage Closing, or Post- Closing experience is required · 1-2 years loan funding experience preferred Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements · Basic knowledge of loan documentation. · Advanced computer sills including Excel and Outlook. · Advanced mathematical skills. · Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. · Familiar with reading and interpreting insurance policies, tax information, prelims, appraisals and settlement statements. · Knowledge of MDIA and TRID disclosure requirements. · Strong attention to detail and organization skills. · Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
