About The Position

The Mortgage Loan Closer/Funder plays a critical role in the final stage of the mortgage process, ensuring loans move efficiently from “clear to close” to successful funding. This position is responsible for preparing and balancing closing disclosures, coordinating with internal teams and external partners, and ensuring all documentation and funding activities are completed accurately and on time.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in mortgage closing, funding, escrow, or title operations
  • Strong knowledge of FNMA, Freddie Mac, FHLB, and standard mortgage industry guidelines
  • Thorough understanding of federal and state mortgage lending regulations
  • Expertise in California (and national) mortgage loan documentation requirements
  • Strong knowledge of Encompass LOS system
  • Proven ability to manage a high-volume pipeline with accuracy and efficiency
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Highly organized with effective time management capabilities
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across multiple parties

Responsibilities

  • Review and balance final closing disclosures and settlement statements with title/escrow partners
  • Ensure all organizational fees are accurately reflected on each loan file
  • Prepare and deliver final closing disclosures in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Accurately prepare and distribute all required mortgage loan documents
  • Coordinate document signing with borrowers and closing agents
  • Monitor and follow up on the return of signed loan packages
  • Establish escrow/impound accounts as required
  • Prepare and submit wire requests with precision and timeliness 💸
  • Board newly funded loans onto the loan servicing system
  • Maintain strict adherence to deadlines and service level expectations ⏱️
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
