Westgate Resorts has a one-year internship starting in Summer 2025 on the Mortgage Reporting & Analytics Team. This internship is designed for undergraduates in their senior year or students in a graduate program, leveraging their degree background such as Finance, Accounting, or Computer Science. Throughout the year, the intern will develop and utilize a blend of Excel, Tableau, and data development skills, to create reporting, analysis, and answer ad hoc questions. This internship will provide: * Real world experience working in a corporate environment; developing an understanding of culture, social norms, interacting with and communicating with others * Direct exposure working on a specific team with other seasoned analysts and mentorship opportunities * Technical skill development utilizing tools such as Excel, Tableau and SQL * Soft skill development such as written and oral communication, collaboration, and prioritization management * Exposure to working with senior management * Developing a baseline understanding of Westgate's business, systems, definitions, and industry terms * An opportunity to pursue full-time employment on the team or at Westgate. The Mortgage Reporting and Analytics team is responsible for (i) overseeing and supporting performance reporting and analysis for Westgate's mortgage portfolio, (ii) providing working capital by pledging those loans to banks and investors, and (iii) provide strategic business support. The mortgage analytics internship will have an emphasis on Tableau development, and will be primarily focused on: * Collections and support staff operations reporting * Funding management support and reporting (how Westgate monetizes the loans it writes to owners) * Mortgage portfolio performance reporting and analysis (e.g. how are loans performing based on FICO score?) * Updating and enhancing our existing suite of Tableau reports * Ad hoc operational support (e.g. how many loans were written for a particular sales center) * Optimizing and organizing existing reporting where applicable * New Tableau reporting supporting other groups such as Digital Marketing, Social Media, Loyalty * Special projects as assigned. The first three to six months will be focused on establishing a base level understanding of the team, the business, our data and reporting systems, and owning a portfolio of routine operational reports. This provides a learning foundation and path for success in the internship. Month's six through twelve will build on your initial skills/experience to complete more complex ad hoc requests involving a higher degree of problem solving. The internship is designed to offer progressively more challenging requests as you become proficient in successfully accomplishing tasks. By the end of the internship, you will have: * A foundational knowledge of the business of timeshare and Westgate with a primary focus on the mortgage portfolio * Hands on experience updating and delivering a portfolio of routine reporting * Exposure to our SQL based data warehouse; how it functions and serves as a cornerstone tool * Learning data as a language and way of thinking; you will learn how to read and write SQL * Experience using both Excel and Tableau to present information and create dashboards * Understand the strengths, weaknesses, and appropriate application of when to use Excel vs Tableau * Exposure to the funding management process * Experience in receiving abstract direction and translating into a concrete deliverable * Experience in prioritization management, handling complex requests, and working through competing priorities.
