About The Position

At TJX Companies, this position is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized store environment, with a primary focus on floor care. The role involves operating cleaning equipment like scrubbers and buffers, as well as performing various cleaning tasks such as dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot cleaning glass and windows. The individual will be cross-trained to support multiple areas of the store and is expected to uphold customer experience practices, maintain a positive store culture, and adhere to all operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards. This role is part of the TJX family, a Fortune 100 company and a leading off-price retailer.

Responsibilities

Maintaining a clean and organized store environment with a focus on floor care
Operation of the scrubber and buffer
Dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot cleaning glass and windows
Adhering to all operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards
Cross-trained to work in multiple areas of the store in order to support the needs of the business
Role modeling established customer experience practices with internal and external customers
Supporting and embodying a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect
Maintaining all floor care cleanliness standards including the maintenance and operation of the scrubber and buffer
Maintaining all organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the entire store, e.g. Sales Floor, Single Queue, Associate Lounge, Backroom and Restrooms
Adhering to all company policies concerning Health and Safety (includes the refilling of all essential items in the Lounge, Restrooms and Front End)
Cross-trained in other areas of the store (Backroom, Front End, Sales Floor, etc.)
Supporting and responding to all Front End coverage needs
Adhering and upholding merchandising philosophy and signage standards
Initiating and participating in store recovery as needed throughout the day
Adhering to all operational and loss prevention controls in accordance with company guidelines and policies including shrink reduction
Communicating accurately and effectively with management and Associates
Adhering to all labor laws, policies, and procedures, including Associate meal and break period policies
Participating in safety awareness and maintaining a safe environment
Other duties as assigned
