Requirements

  • Pleasant, polite, and professional appearance.

  • Scheduling may vary and include nights, weekends, and holidays due to the nature of the business.
  • Minimum 1 year of customer service or restaurant experience.
  • Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages and able to obtain a liquor card if required by state law.
  • Light work: Exert up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and/or negligible force constantly to move objects. Requires significant walking or standing.
  • May be required to lift over 40 pounds on occasion.
  • Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, picking/pinching with fingers, typing, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motion.
  • Inside: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Considered “inside” if approximately 75% or more of the time is spent indoors.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests immediately upon seating.
  • Act as the point person for front-of-house staff during assigned shifts.
  • Train and mentor new servers and assist with new server orientation as needed.
  • Promote a positive work environment through strong teamwork and leadership.
  • Assist in coordinating table assignments and managing the flow of service.
  • Use acquired menu knowledge to offer suggestions, answer questions, and anticipate guests’ needs.
  • Follow liquor liability laws, visually confirm age identification, and practice responsible beverage service.
  • Take guest drink and food orders, enter orders in the POS system, and ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Lift small and large trays, carrying as many entrees/drinks as physically able; garnish and serve food/drink items for guests and other servers’ guests.
  • Monitor guest needs and proactively address any issues or concerns.
  • Ensure all food and beverages are served according to established standards.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and bartenders regarding special orders or guest needs.
  • Prepare, present, and receive payment for guests’ checks.
  • Buss and reset tables.
  • Assist with side work, opening/closing duties, and inventory as needed.
  • Maintain and restock service stations, garnish line, service bar, and common areas of the restaurant.
  • Use equipment including adding machine, ammonia glass cleaner, bleach, Brasso, sanitizer, coffee machines, iced tea machine, POS equipment, and soda fountains.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.
