About The Position

Herndon Montessori School is seeking a qualified Montessori Assistant Teacher for both full-time and part-time positions in the Primary and Pre-Primary rooms. The role involves supporting the lead teacher in classroom activities and fostering a nurturing environment that encourages children's creativity and independence. The assistant teacher will help implement a developmentally appropriate program in line with Montessori principles and relevant childcare regulations.

Requirements

• High School diploma or higher level of education.
• At least one year of experience working with a group of children.
• Warm, supportive, and patient attitude towards working with children and their families.
• Completion of a background check required.
• Commitment to work Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct daily activities for the program in the classroom and outdoors in coordination with the lead teacher.
• Maintain an environment that promotes optimal growth and development of children.
• Help children think creatively, solve problems independently, and respect themselves and others.
• Maintain an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore, and make decisions with confidence.
• Ensure that children are actively engaged in a safe, organized, and stimulating learning environment.
