About The Position
LePort Montessori, part of the Spring Education Group, is seeking a passionate Montessori Assistant Teacher for a part-time position at our Irvine, California location. This role is integral to our Early Childhood Education Division, which encompasses nearly 150 schools across the nation, offering services from infant care through Pre-K/K programs, as well as summer camp and after-school programs. Our educational approach is diverse, drawing from the expertise of renowned educators such as Dewey, Piaget, and Vygotsky, and includes accredited Montessori methods and progressive language immersion programs in Mandarin and Spanish. As a Montessori Assistant Teacher, you will guide students in meaningful work while providing a prepared environment that facilitates student-led learning and freedom with responsibility. The position requires you to work from 12 PM to 6 PM, Monday through Friday, in a year-round capacity. You will be part of a community that values a holistic approach to education, combining academics, practical life skills, sensorial exercises, and mixed-age groups, allowing each child to express their unique gifts, interests, and abilities. To be successful in this role, you must comply with all state education and licensing standards and maintain validation of credentials for the position. This includes successfully clearing a criminal background check and having a minimum of a high school diploma, along with at least six core Early Childhood Education units. The position also requires physical capabilities such as walking, standing, sitting, and the ability to lift and carry items as needed.
