About The Position

Line Lead will provide day-to-day assistance to Department Supervisor with leadership and management of shift employees. As lead, will assist in establishing means and methods to insure all employees perform job functions correctly and safely and ensuring department expectations are met with adherence to company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Two to five years production experience required; preferably in pork industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents in the English language such as safety files, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Must have the ability to write routine reports.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
  • Must be able to perform the necessary calculations for completion of departmental paperwork.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Must be able to make decisions on routine matters utilizing company policies and procedures and directions from upper management.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the day-to-day leadership and management for production employees within department.
  • Must be willing to learn CAT2 and M3.
  • In absence of Supervisor, will direct, instruct, and provide feedback to employees including communicating any changes in policies or procedures as needed.
  • Ensure all new hires and existing employees perform their jobs safely, correctly, and with the highest level of quality and ability.
  • Coordinate all new employee activities and training relative to shift.
  • Follow up with staff and on daily processes.
  • Perform personnel administration for paperwork, planning, and production analysis.
  • In the absence of the manager record employee hours, attendance, and notify supervisor of any concerns.
  • Ensure that all weekly and daily reports are turned in timely and accurately.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and hold others accountable.
  • Ensure monitoring and prescribed checks of all operating equipment are conducted as required for proper operation.
  • Maintain proper records and logs of activities, operating conditions, and down time.
  • Understand, support, and help implement/maintain the Quality Management System (QMS), Operating Policies, and Daily's safety programs.
