About The Position

Requirements

  • Ordination from a recognized Buddhist religious institution.
  • Master's degree in Buddhist Philosophy or Buddhist Studies (does not have to be a regionally accredited school).
  • 4 years experience as a monastic member in a religious organization.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver religious teachings on Sundays.
  • Conduct religious rites and ceremonies.
  • Provide pastoral care and counseling to members facing personal, family, or spiritual issues.
  • Meet with members individually or in groups to help them grow in their faith and address their spiritual needs.
  • Host monks visiting from out of town.
  • Plan and lead religious education programs for students.
  • Collaborate with Temple staff to coordinate services, classes, and activities.
  • Engage in community events when invited.
  • Hold classes on the doctrines, texts, and traditions of Tibetan Buddhism.
  • Provide spiritual guidance and counseling in a compassionate and respectful manner.
  • Collaborate effectively with individuals from varying cultures and backgrounds.
  • Plan and organize programs and events.
  • Commitment to uphold the ethical standards and values of the Temple.
