About The Position

SCOPE: Responsible for assisting the Chief of Security and other Security personnel with monitoring of O.C.H.A. residents and property, by providing building coverage on nights and weekends at supportive housings sites. This position may be required to work 12 hour shifts. ACCOUNTABILITY: Responsible to the Chief of Security through assigned supervisors.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent.
  • Good telephone voice and a general knowledge of filing systems.
  • Appropriate clerical, typing and computer skills.
  • Ability to deal effectively and courteously with the public and exercise a high degree of judgment, tact and diplomacy in dealing with residents.
  • Ability to retain proprietary information as confidential.
  • Ability to comply with Authority attendance policies.
  • Ability to read and write correspondence, read ledgers, and work with computerized reports, code books, plans, maintain logs, and enter data on the computer.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with others by telephone, radio and in person.
  • Requires prolonged sitting and bending.
  • Must be able to work evening or night shift.

Responsibilities

  • Assume monitoring responsibility for the Development and Development systems during scheduled duty hours and at times when the Development's Manager ("Manager") must be away.
  • Answer office phones and interact courteously and professionally with building residents.
  • Document activity on the "Daily Activity Log," including master key transfers, emergency responses, door alarm activations, resident lockouts, and any activity deemed relevant and pertinent to the safety, security, and operation of the Development.
  • Lock and unlock the building to meet posted schedule/activity requirements. Advise the Security Dispatcher of the time when the building is secured for the night.
  • Periodically walk the building checking exterior doors, common areas, restrooms, etc.
  • Unlock apartments for residents of that apartment community only, when a resident's key is lost or misplaced. Do not enter any areas of the Development without cause.
  • Monitor Security Cameras and respond to Emergency Alarm Systems (Fire, Elevator, Door and Nurse Call). Report all emergency resident/building problems to the 911 Dispatcher and/or the Security Department, as applicable.
  • Light cleaning duties will be required, including mopping, wiping down surfaces, cleaning of restrooms and common areas.
  • Apply ice melt or shovel sidewalks during inclement weather events
  • Must work weekends, nights and assigned holidays
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
