The Monitor at the Zelma George Shelter Program is responsible for providing support to residents by actively listening and addressing their needs while ensuring adherence to shelter rules and regulations. This role involves direct interaction with adult residents, assisting with intakes and discharges, and maintaining communication with social workers regarding critical client information.

  • Completes intakes and assists with discharges.
  • Completes necessary paperwork as needed.
  • Works closely with adult residents to provide support.
  • Provides orientation to the program for new residents.
  • Reviews program rules, policies, and procedures with clients.
  • Reports rule violations, injuries, and incidents to assigned worker and management both verbally and in writing via special report.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Good assessment and strong judgment skills.
  • Good communication skills including good grammar, spelling, and legible handwriting.
  • Ability to routinely lift and carry boxes weighing 50 pounds or more.
  • Ability to use stairs when necessary for building evacuations, drills, or during elevator maintenance.
