A Brief Overview
The Monitor Technician/Clinical Secretary continually monitors cardiac rhythms on a specific unit, identifies and interprets changes in rhythms and acts appropriately. Performs clerical duties on a nursing unit, answers the telephone, relays messages, and acts as a receptionist receiving and directing visitors and ambulatory patients.

Requirements

• High School Diploma with the successful completion of Medical Terminology and Monitor Tech course with a passing score on the examination
• Works with patients, families, physicians, and other health care providers.
• Light Physical Demand

• MT/Clerical experience

Responsibilities

• Telephone and patient call bells are answered in a prompt & appropriate manner, redirects calls and patient requests promptly to appropriate staff
• Utilizes Service Response Center in a timely manner
• Obtains/stocks/organizes office supplies
• Maintains label book and logbook with updates daily with no more than (1) occurrences of noncompliance
• Verifies with nurse on admission and every shift patient on telemetry
