About The Position

This position provides reception and performs clerical functions for the ICU patient care unit and ensures the accurate monitoring and reporting of patient cardiac rhythm to meet the needs of the nursing staff and other care providers. In addition, this position routinely completes lead electrocardiograms (ECGs) for ICU patients and transcribes physician, nursing and other provider orders for care. Requirements

  • High school graduation or equivalent required.
  • Successful completion of a medical terminology course.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret cardiac rhythm required.
  • Must have written and verbal English proficiency.
  • Clerical/receptionist experience required.
  • Basic keyboarding/computer skills preferred typing of 30 CWPM.
  • Must possess manual dexterity and physical/visual ability to watch computer monitors for extended periods of time (8-12 hours per day).
  • Must be a highly organized individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
