About The Position

PeaceHealth is seeking a Monitor Technician - Telemetry for a Part Time, 0.80 FTE, Night position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $21.75 - $33.97. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc. This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. There may be more than one opening on this posting.

Requirements

• High School Diploma Preferred: or equivalent.
• Preferred: Completion of Nurse Aide, Medical Assistant or equivalent program.
• Required: Completion of EKG class and monitoring equipment class within 1 month of hire.
• Required: Upon Hire Basic Life Support.
• Preferred: Experience in healthcare setting, preferably work within cardiology specialty.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient's needs.
• Basic computer skills including MS Office applications.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
• Basic knowledge of anatomy/physiology of the heart.

Responsibilities

• Operate the appropriate monitoring device in accordance with physician orders.
• Expert at using all functions of central monitoring equipment.
• Observes monitors continually, detecting and documenting any changes in heart rhythm and arrhythmias according to department standards.
• Identifies and interprets EKG and relays pertinent information to physician or nurse according to department standards.
• Assists physicians in viewing rhythm history.
• Orients staff to central monitoring capability and role of Monitor Tech.
• Perform clerical duties as assigned which may include processing admissions, discharges and transfers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
