About The Position

As a Monitor Technician PRN with HCA Florida Brandon Hospital, you will perform a variety of duties including EKG monitoring and interpretation, compiling, transcribing, preparing and maintaining records for your unit. You will also provide information and communication services to visitors and staff and assist nursing staff in maintaining efficient operations on the unit. You will interpret rhythms and arrhythmias, report all changes in heart rate/rhythm to appropriate nursing staff, maintain telemetry supplies, record patient condition utilizing computerized documentation systems, perform duties with full understanding of related age-specific factors, orient and mentor new staff members, and follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Requirements

  • BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
  • Completion of Basic EKG/Arrhythmia course.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology.
  • CMT/Cardiac Experience preferred.
  • Experience as a monitor tech in a hospital setting preferred.
  • Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Arrhythmia Recognition must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • High School Graduate / GED.

Nice To Haves

  • CMT/Cardiac Experience preferred.
  • Experience as a monitor tech in a hospital setting preferred.
