About The Position

Atlantic Health System is seeking a Per Diem Monitor/Telemetry Technician at Chilton Medical Center. Required hours vary (8-hour shifts) including weekends. Starting rate $24.36/hr.

Requirements

• HS Diploma or GED/Equivalent required.
• Completion of Basic Arrhythmia course required.
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• To provide a safe environment to our patients, we require that all candidates must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Must be able to pass telemetry pre-test.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association preferred or will obtain through AHS within 3 months of hire date.

Nice To Haves

• Current Monitor Tech experience and/or recent clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient information to determine normal heart rhythm pattern, current pattern, and prior variances.
• Observes screen of cardiac monitor and listens for alarm to identify abnormal variation in heart rhythm.
• Informs supervisor or General Duty Nurse of variances to initiate examination of patient.
• Measures length and height of patient's heart rhythm pattern on graphic tape readout, using calipers, and posts information on patient records.
• Answers calls for assistance from patients and inquiries concerning patients from medical staff.
• Prepares documentation regarding evaluation results, progress reports, and personalized treatment plans.
• May perform relevant duties as needed.
