Under the Management of the Virtual Intensive Care Unit leadership, functions as the link between virtual monitoring and the clinicians at the bedside. Provides trending and tracking of the integrated physiologic and telemetry monitoring component of the patient and communicates this appropriately to the clinical health care providers in support of maximizing the safe, effective, efficient, and evidenced based care of the patient. Assist all concerned departments in the upkeep, maintenance, and purchase of equipment, and will help support development of new programs and purchases related to patient monitoring. Accountable for adhering to the standards set by regulatory agencies such as but not limited to Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), Center for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS), Fire Marshall and Michigan Occupational Health and Safety (MIOSHA). Analytical skills necessary to operate physiologic and telemetry monitoring equipment, 12 Lead EKG equipment, using minor hand tools. The ability to deal effectively and professionally with the public, patients, clinical staff, and peers upholding the values of Borgess Medical Center and Ascension Health.
