About The Position

The Monitor Tech directly monitors patient cardiac rhythm and oxygen saturation via remote monitoring system, enters patient's data into the monitoring system, responds to alarms, identifies changes in patients status and reports to the appropriate RN in a timely manner. The role also serves as a preceptor for other MT I staff and assists staff in critically thinking and problem solving issues in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Minimum Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • Minimum Years of Experience: None
  • Required Training: Successful completion of outside basic arrhythmia class or successful completion of LMC's Basic Arrhythmia Course within new hire probationary period.

  • Assists in the provision of quality patient care through monitoring of clinical data.
  • Receives orders and enters patient data into monitoring system and assigns transmitter for remote telemetry.
  • Demonstrates ability to use and troubleshoot the monitoring system effectively.
  • Provides rhythm strips for charts by uploading into correct patient record in a timely manner according to policy.
