About The Position

At Franciscan, our Monitor Technicians maintain surveillance of telemetry unit; Interprets and documents cardiac rhythms and/or abnormal vital signs; notifies appropriate personnel of information and emergencies. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT Maintain surveillance of telemetry unit/vital signs alarms and documentation. Provide telemetry strips to ensure accurate monitoring of patient condition. Interpret and document cardiac rhythms and notifies appropriate personnel of information and emergencies. Monitor for abnormal vital signs and notifies appropriate personnel of information and emergencies Prepare daily and cumulative ECG reports and document patient care information. Record telemetry measurements once per shift and as needed to identify patient trends or issues Answer multi-line telephones, vocera, and/or electronic medical record communications, answering the caller's questions or directing the caller to the appropriate party. Perform EKG's for select units after hours (location/hospital specific) as needed

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1 year EKG Technician
  • Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year ECG interpretation
