About The Position

The Monitor Technician at Montclair Hospital Medical Center is responsible for monitoring cardiac rhythms and providing indirect care in the emergency department. Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required.
• Current Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Six months previous experience as Monitor Technician preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac rhythms via direct cardiac monitors.
• Meet the communication needs of the department.
• Transcribe physician orders in the absence of CPOE and EMR clinical documentation system.
• Verify that lab tests and radiology tests have been ordered and completed.
• Prepare and compile records in the Emergency Department.
• Order supplies for the unit and prepare patient charts for necessary forms.
• Assist nursing staff with indirect patient care duties as long as it does not distract from primary responsibility for dysrhythmia monitoring.
