About The Position

Job Objective: Performs ongoing review of patient’s rhythm, rate, and interpretation. Communicates with RN any issues with telemetry readings. Job Description: Education: Required: EKG Class Preferred: Medical Terminology Class Licensure/Certification: N/A Experience: N/A Reports To: Director Nursing Supervises: N/A Ages of Patients: Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric Blood Borne Pathogens: Minimal/ No Potential Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Basic EKG rhythm interpretation, Excellent communication skills Essential Responsibilities 1. Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations 2. Interprets rhythm strips accurately 3. Documents rhythm strips according to existing hospital guidelines 4. Communicates to oncoming shift a review of patients rhythm, rate, dysrhythmias, alarms 5. Communicates events in a timely manner: i.e.: all rhythm/rate changes, and dysrhythmias, and or issues with telemetry readings (i.e.: leads off, low battery, loss of signal, poor wave form, etc.) to RN 6. Documents events in the EMR 7. Activate “Code Blue” for a lethal arrhythmia 8. Performs other duties as assigned Welcome to Eisenhower Health Careers! • Basic EKG rhythm interpretation
