Job Summary: To observe, document, and communicate cardiac rhythms at the telemetry station under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse. This position must demonstrate a commitment of quality service to our patients, the public and our co-workers. Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac rhythms. Documents rhythm strips according to Care Center policy. Maintains communication with appropriate nurse regarding telemetry concerns. Responds appropriately in emergency situations. Maintains a safe and orderly environment by assuming responsibility for organizing and coordinating the telemetry station. Accepts responsibility for professional growth and development. Contributes to the continuous quality improvement process. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia Course required within 45 days of hire.
  • Successfully pass the Basic Arrhythmia test within three attempts.
  • Constant (67-100% of workday) use of arms and hands
  • Frequent (34-66% of workday) standing, walking, and sitting
  • Occasional (0-33% of workday) bending, stooping, and squatting
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs.
  • Ability to push and pull up to 20 lbs.
  • Auditory and visual skills to include color determination.
  • Possesses critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Capacity to cope with difficult situations.
  • Ability to tolerate irregular hours including evenings, nights, and weekends.
  • Potential risk of exposure to radiation and toxic chemicals.
  • Potential for exposure to bloodborne pathogens; must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
