A Monitor Technician is responsible for monitoring the heart rhythm pattern of patients to detect abnormal pattern variances using telemetry equipment. This role involves reviewing patient information to determine normal heart rhythm patterns, current patterns, and prior variances. The technician observes cardiac monitors and listens for alarms to identify abnormal variations in heart rhythm, and informs the Assistant Nurse Manager and/or Registered Nurse of variances to initiate examination of the patient.
