About The Position

The ED Monitor Technician is responsible for providing constant visual monitoring and accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms on the unit’s central monitors, clerical, and concierge support to the ED unit, charge nurse, and staff. Works in collaboration with nursing staff and physicians to effectively communicate and assist with patient and family needs. The ED Monitor Tech provides exceptional family centered customer service by promptly greeting and assisting all staff, patients, family members, and visitors with courtesy, concern, and respect.

Requirements

  • Previous administrative work experience.
  • Basic knowledge of nursing care terminology and functions.
  • High School Diploma/ GED or equivalent.
  • Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCM) certification required within 3 months of hire.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to follow computer downtime procedures.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Ability to prioritize assigned tasks and meet all expectations for the completion of assigned roles.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to consistently function in an environment that includes varying unpredictable or crises situations.
  • Ability to accurately interpret and analyze basic cardiac dysrhythmia.
  • Excellent telephone etiquette.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Basic Dysrhythmia Certification

Nice To Haves

  • Previous work experience in emergency department environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare related field.
  • Bilingual in English/ Spanish
