The mission of The University of Texas M. D. The Telemetry/Thoracic/Cardiovascular Unit provides care to patients admitted to the unit. This is a 32 bed surgical telemetry unit, patient having surgical procedures who may have development an arrhythmias. Shift: 3 x 12 hours: 7pm to 7am including rotating weekends and holidays. Function- Responsible for the continuous observation, identification and documentation of changes in patient cardiac rate/rhythm. Scope- Impacts outcome of patient care. Essential Job Functions- Monitors and documents EKG / cardiac rhythm, non-invasive blood pressure (NIBP) and pulse oximetry (Sp02). Promptly reports changes in cardiac rhythms to nurse. Maintains accurate documentation of all admissions/discharges/transfers and associated telemetry logs. Other duties as assigned.
