Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.
Must exhibit proficiency in patient care and oral communication skills.
BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
Must maintain any other requirements for each specific department.
Must complete required departmental competencies and maintain through annual review.

One year of experience as a monitor tech.

Responsibilities

The monitor tech shall be responsible for assisting in the care of patients by continual observation of any patient on a cardiac monitor, under the direction of an RN or LPN.
