About The Position

The Intensive Care Monitor Technician through communication, requisitioning and management of supplies and equipment, coordinates the activities of the nursing staff, the patient, the physician and other hospital departments and visitors. He/she performs general receptionist, clerical and support duties in order to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit. Cardiac Monitoring is the primary role of the technician, close attention to cardiac rhythms with accurate interpretation and notification to the nursing staff when concerns arise.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of Basic Cardiac Rhythm interpretation course within 6 months of employment

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate activities of nursing staff, patients, physicians, and other hospital departments.
  • Perform general receptionist, clerical, and support duties.
  • Monitor cardiac rhythms and interpret them accurately.
  • Notify nursing staff of any concerns regarding cardiac rhythms.
