About The Position

The Monitor Technician at Saint Clare's Health is responsible for monitoring cardiac rhythms and facilitating communication within the department. This role involves indirect patient care, ensuring that lab and radiology tests are ordered and completed, and assisting nursing staff as needed. The position requires a commitment to maintaining certifications and competencies in dysrhythmia interpretation and basic life support.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required.
• Current Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Six months previous experience as Monitor technician preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac rhythms via direct cardiac monitors.
• Facilitate communication needs of the department.
• Transcribe physician orders in the absence of CPOE and EMR clinical documentation system.
• Verify that lab tests and radiology tests have been ordered and completed.
• Prepare and compile records in the ICU.
• Order supplies for the unit and prepare patient charts for necessary forms needed daily.
• Assist nursing staff with indirect patient care duties as needed.
